Ever wonder why your diamonds are not sparkly any more? It is because they are attracted to grease!
Once diamonds are mined they must be seperated from the ore. The diamond bearing ore is crushed in order to make it smaller and more manageable. It is then ran along with water over a grease covered table. The rocks tumble away and because diamonds are attracted to grease they stick and then at the end of the day they are scraped off the table, the grease is melted and the diamonds are harvested.
You can keep your diamonds clean by letting them soak for a few minutes in a cup of warm water with dish detergent such as Dawn or Palmolive. Brushing them with a soft toothbrush will remove any dirt particles. Do not use bleach or other chemicals to clean your diamonds or gold jewelry. You can also purchase jewelry cleaner or most jewelry stores will clean them for you.
